Vive Canada!

So I am finally getting around to posting about our AMAZING trip to Vancouver, BC... It was incredibly beautiful and the weather was perfect!  We stayed at the Westin, right on the water in Cole Harbour.  The view right outside our hotel room was incredible- we could see the high rises of downtown Vancouver and a huge marina with tons of beautiful boats and yachts.  Float planes took off and landed in the bay and farther down the seawall were docks for cruise ships.  The site of the Olympic torch was just down the bay also- it was beautiful at night!

We were just a short distance down the seawall from Stanley Park so the second day while Gary was at meetings I went with a bunch of the other ladies on a bike ride around the entire park- about 8 mi.  The scenery was breathtaking!!

Everything on the trip was first class!  Reserve National went all out for us!  One evening was the gala and awards dinner so we got to get dressed up- I love this picture :)

Another night we got to go out on a chartered yacht to have dinner and watch a spectacular fireworks display out in English Bay.  Every year several countries compete in the Celebration of Lights and this particular night was Mexico's display.  It was so beautiful- a night we will never forget!

The day before headed home we rented a car and drove up to Whistler.  The drive along the Sea to Sky highway was amazing.  We stopped at Shannon Falls on the way.

Whistler Village is a super cool place!  Our plan was to ride the gondola up to do the peak-to-peak ride between Blackcomb & Whistler peaks- however, I had terrible vertigo ALL DAY long and was scared to death I would get sick going up.  Come to find out it was probably from being out on the boat the night before!  So our Whistler day got cut a bit short which was a major bummer!  We ended up having lunch and heading back down...

By the time Friday rolled around we were both very ready to get home and see our kiddos.. We only talked to them once on the phone and so we were really missing them!  We knew they were having a fantastic time at home with Grandma Ginny & the girls.  When we pulled into the driveway this is what we saw....

Kids... You gotta love them!!  We had a great time... It was so nice being able to have Gary all to myself for 6 whole days!  It was a great time to to relax and rejuvenate but it was great to get home too!
