Sugar Cookies!

Making sugar cookies this year was awesome!  And I have to admit it was due to the fact that I didn't have to personally frost 40 cookies!  McKenna & Kaden were real troopers- they frosted probably 35 of of the cookies all by themselves (and even more amazing, I LET them and didn't even interfere- just turned them loose!).  They had a great time and the cookies turned out beautiful.  Cam even did a couple- some of the frosting even made it onto the cookies :)

McKenna & Kaden even rolled out their dough, cut the cookies out and put them on the cookie sheets!

Their favorite part though was the decorating...

By the time they were done we finished off the sprinkles (finally)!  It went so well that I think we'll make sure it's a Christmas tradition.

Dirt Dessert

Wow, not sure where the past week has gone!  I think we are finally getting settled back into the back-to-school routine... We have also been busy in the kitchen so I thought I would share one of our favorite kid treats (of course ANYONE loves it)!  Here it is...

DIRT DESSERT

1 pkg. Oreo cookies

1/2 c. butter, softened

1 c. powdered sugar

8 oz. cream cheese, softened

2 pkgs. instant chocolate pudding

3 1/2 c. milk

12 oz. whipped topping 

Grind up Oreos in a food processor.  Cream together butter, powdered sugar and the cream cheese.  In another bowl mix together the pudding, milk and whipped topping.  Combine cream cheese mixture and pudding mixture.  In a large glass (or trifle) bowl, layer 1/3 of the crushed Oreos, then 1/2 of the pudding mixture.  Repeat layers ending with Oreos on top.  Decorate with Gummy Worms if desired.
